  1. Since recording this podcast, I should point out that Victrix have posted a handsome apology about the delay to their mail routine, so all is forgiven!

  2. My dearest Sparkles

You have provided another great and soothing painting audio accompaniment ... although it was a little startling to hear my name mentioned amongst others near the beginning!

Yes you were right - I was painting Calpe landwehr during the prior podcast. This I know because I was painting the same unit during this one. Oh the shame! Thankfully I am onto the last few bits & pieces on the last 7 figures for the unit and I'll be able to base it and move on to the next.

The organisation behind your Waterloo game was interesting. I was not involved in organising the parallel local big Waterloo recreation over here but I am good mates with one of those fairly central to it. Starting from the same historic battle the games turned seem to have turned out to be fairly different. Viva the diversity.

    Roll on podcast 4.

    1. Thanks your Vonship - had to be Prussian Landwehrmanner! Actually I've seen glimpses of them now on your blog, and very nice they are too - well painted that man. Of course I take some credit with my soothing (sophorific?) podcast inducing that calm relaxed state so necessary for painting!

  3. Excellent podcast - made painting 20mm cold war Russians (Wartime Miniatures) a very enjoyable session. I find them very nice figures and they will go well with my Elheim BAOR squaddies.

    1. Thanks Greg! Not come across Wartime Miniatures figures themselves, but good on ya for using an Aussie company! Unfortunately I can't get past the lovely Elheim figures, both the Brits and Russkis!

  4. Just caught up on your podcasts Friday night. You definitely fixed the sound problem, and perhaps your voice isn't made for radio, it's still pretty easy to listen to. So far so good. During your first two I was finishing up some Vikings for Saga which are now posted on Der Feldmarschall. (http://derfeldmarschall.blogspot.com/)

During the Waterloo special I was actually working on my Prussians as I'm trying to get my 1813 project and the Immer Vorwarts! blog (http://immervorwarts.blogspot.com/) going again. Always enjoy both your blog and input on Black Powder. In fact I was going to suggest talking about why Black Powder is your rules of choice for a podcast subject, but you already beat me to it. :-)

Along with chronicling my progress, I'm trying to structure the Immer Vorwarts blog as a useful guide to newcomers to the Napoleonic wargaming hobby. I certainly plan to throw up a post about your Black Powder 1-2-3 and plug your podcast in the near future.

Keep up the good work. My only suggestions right now for a podcast subject down the road would be to breakdown how you go about creating your scenarios using Black Powder. The other would be organizing a campaign weekend.

    Looking forward the podcast #4!

    1. Thanks so much Jason! Great to hear about your themed painting of Prussians during the Waterloo special. Good luck with the guide to Naps on your blog, anything that can lower the entry threshold to this daunting period has got to be helpful, and your very professional blog is sure to inspire! I will take your advice about future episodes on board too...
